How Birmingham Heating & Air Conditioning publishes, cites, corrects, and discloses.
Citation policy
Every technical claim points to a primary source. Acceptable sources, in order of authority for residential HVAC work:
Manufacturer install and service manuals — Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, American Standard, Bryant, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu.
ACCA Manual J (residential load), Manual S (equipment selection), Manual D (duct design), Manual T (air distribution).
ASHRAE Handbook, Standard 62.2 (residential ventilation), Standard 90.2 (residential energy).
U.S. EPA Section 608 refrigerant rules, AIM Act phase-down rule, ENERGY STAR criteria.
U.S. Department of Energy residential efficiency guidance.
AHRI directory and certification ratings for matched-system performance.
IRS Section 25C — Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit current-year guidance.
NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code), NFPA 70 (NEC), and current Alabama mechanical and electrical code.
AI disclosure
Some drafting on this site uses AI tools as a writing aid. Every line is reviewed and rewritten by a human technician before publish. We do not pass AI hallucinations to readers. If a page reads like a chatbot wrote it and nobody fixed it, that is a bug — email us and we will fix it. AI is a typing assistant, not an editorial voice.
Corrections policy
Find an error? Call dispatch at (205) 649-4480 or use the contact page. Substantive corrections — wrong code reference, wrong refrigerant, wrong equipment spec, wrong tax-credit number — get a dated correction note on the page. Minor edits (typos, formatting) are fixed silently. We never delete a wrong claim and pretend it was never there.
Ethics — what we will not do
We do not invent technicians, certifications, awards, "since-year" claims, or review counts.
We do not publish flat-rate pricing online. Every quote is on-site, in writing, before any work begins.
We do not promise response times we cannot deliver. Dispatch tells you the truth on the call.
We do not run scare-tactic copy or fabricated urgency banners ("only 3 slots left this week").
We do not buy reviews, stage photos, or run testimonial mills.
We do not publish AggregateRating or Review schema — period.
We do not pretend to offer free services, free diagnostics, or free anything we charge for.
